Porto da Barra - fun & sun!

We can certainly discuss this over a Caipirinha - but Porto da Barra is simply the most beautiful neighborhood in Salvador. The ancient harbor (from the era of explorers), colonial-style houses, old fortresses, bars & restaurants directly on the promenade with a view of the sea or bay. And of course ...


... the beach! The English newspaper "The Guardian" named the beach as the third most beautiful in the world. Not true. It is the most beautiful (and many will agree). Crystal clear water, no currents, no high waves. And the sunset (geographically, it is rare to see a sunset over the sea in Brazil) is simply unique. Sitting in the sand, a Caipirinha in hand and watching the red ball slowly fall behind the horizon.


With bus, taxi or UBER, all interesting and noteworthy points of Salvador can be easily reached. The old town (World Heritage site Pelourinho), other beaches, neighborhoods, theaters, and attractions.


In short: simply the most beautiful neighborhood!
